Kate’s Storytree is the storytelling venture created by artist Kate Coleman. We worked together to create a new website which encapsulated the world she created whilst telling her stories.
Kate creates beautiful physical spaces that transport both children and adults to the realm that her stories inhabit. Full of colour, sketches, cuttings and props. The challenge was to build this into a digital space - which could be enjoyed by young and old.
As you enter the website you are welcomed by one of Kate’s sketches coming to life across the screen. This is followed by a flood of bold colours, cuttings of her sketches and the feeling that you could be sat in a circle with her watching her perform her storytelling.
One of the key reasons Kate was so in need for a new website was to give her clients clear and accessible information. Users can easily locate information on events, contact/social media details as well as details for businesses who and looking to make bookings. We developed a blog section which Kate can use to digitally tell stories, with a CMS that is easy to use.
The website strikes a balance of being a space that reflects the physical feeling Storytree, but also works for Kate and her users as a practical and easy to use source of information for her business.
